Wylie is up for adoption at the Kitchener-Waterloo Humane Society! He is a one-year old Husky Akita cross who is already neutered. In the picture Wylie has a plastic cone on his head, that is only because he was just neutered and sometimes dogs can chew on their stitches. Wylie is a very handsome boy who easily attracts potential new owners just from his looks. But it is important to learn about the breed and to adopt a pet who is the right breed for you and your family. Akita crosses are a very smart breed of dog and can easily learn from watching people doing the same tasks – such as opening the backyard gate or the cookie cupboard. They can become bored too, so it is always good to keep their exercise and play routine new and interesting for them.
As with all dogs who are adopted at the K-W Humane Society, we recommend you and your new dog attend basic training lessons. It is a great way to bond with your pet and to ensure you are giving “Fido” the best start in your home.
