As mentioned briefly yesterday, Shea Weber has to wait and see whether the Nashville Predators will match the 14 year, $110M offer sheet he signed with the Philadelphia Flyers. Personally, I don’t think it’s going to happen. Weber voiced his opinion already about Suter leaving, now this should be a direct sign that he does not want to be in Nashville, not good for a guy wearing your “C”. Plus is it even possible for the Preds? The 1st four years are worth $56 M, a lot of change for a budget strapped team.
Adam Scott came this close to setting a record at The Open. Instead after making Bogey on the final hole, Scott settled for a tie, finishing the 1st round with a 64, 6 under par. For complete leaderboard action, click here.
Yan Gomes has been recalled by the Jays to replace Brett Lawrie for the time being. Scott Dyson was sent down.
There are rumours beginning to swirl that Yunel Escobar could be moved at this year’s trade deadline. Oakland has shown interest. Also possibly San Francisco or Pittsburgh.
Cody Ross continues to roll for the Red Sox. Two nights ago, hitting in Big Papi’s 3-hole, Ross hit two 3-run Home Run’s and a double. Last night, a walk-off 3 run shot. Yes, I’ve picked him up in my Fantasy Pool, especially since tonight the Sox open a 3 game series at Fenway against the Jays.
And if you can stand some of the USA chants in this video, you’ll be impressed by some of these trick basketball shots.
Have a great weekend!
That's it from the couch...for now.
